Madonna and Robbie sing at MTV show

Robbie Williams and Madonna are among the star performers at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The event is taking place in Lisbon with Coldplay and Gorillaz leading the nominations. The bands are up for five awards each and will compete for best group and best UK act. Madonna will give the first live TV performance of her new single Hung Up. Cartoon band Gorillaz are promising to stage the world's first 3D hologram performance and Williams, who is in the running for best male and best pop act, will sing his latest single, Tripping. Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen will host the awards as his alter ego Borat. Presenters on stage at the Atlantic Pavilion include Sugababes, Craig David and Portuguese football star Luis Figo. James Blunt has three nominations, including best song for You're Beautiful. Kaiser Chiefs, Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani and U2 are also hoping to pick up awards. The ceremony is being broadcast live on MTV.

Leuk stel!
